  • Aerosols analyzed for Pb-210 collected on R/V Thomas G. Thompson cruise TN303 in the Eastern Tropical Pacific from October to December 2013 (U.S. GEOTRACES EPZT project)
    WSU Dataset

    Description

This data was collected as part of an expedition to the Pacific Ocean to map and study the distribution of trace elements and isotopes as part of the International GEOTRACES Program (a program which aims to improve the understanding of biogeochemical cycles and large-scale distribution of trace elements and their isotopes in the marine environment). 135 seawater samples were collected and analyzed from 6 super stations from east to west along a transect from Peru to Tahiti.

    Description

This data was collected as part of an expedition to the Pacific Ocean and Atlantic Oceans to map and study the distribution of trace elements and isotopes as part of the International GEOTRACES Program (a program which aims to improve the understanding of biogeochemical cycles and large-scale distribution of trace elements and their isotopes in the marine environment). hundreds of samples were collected, processed, and analyzed along the two transects: EPZT in the Eastern Pacific between Peru and Tahiti, and GEOVIDE in the North Atlantic and Arctic between Portugal and Newfoundland, Canada. Along both transects, samples were collected at specific stations and the activity of the radionuclides was measured on both particle (small and large) and in the water column.

  • Enforcement and Compliance History Online

    Alternate Title(s)
    ECHO
    Description

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)'s Enforcement and Compliance History Online (ECHO) website can be used to search for facilities in your community to assess their compliance with environmental regulations. You can use ECHO to search for facilities, investigate pollution sources, search for EPA enforcement cases, examine and create enforcement-related maps, and analyze trends in compliance and enforcement data.

  • Count Love Protest Data

    Description

The creators of CountLove began crawling local newspaper and television sites to track protests and number of attendees since the first Women's March in 2017. They count public displays of protest that are not part of “regular business.” Protest entries include the following information: the date of the protest, attendees, the event type, metadata tags, and the source of protest information.

  • Data from: Eco-evolutionary dynamics in the wild: clonal turnover and stability in Daphnia populations
    WSU Dataset

    Authors
    Christopher F. Steiner
    Carly J. Nowicki
    Description

This study examined the relationship between clonal dynamics and population stability of natural Daphnia pulex populations experiencing seasonal environmental variation. It shows that the degree of asynchrony in a population's clonal dynamics is tightly linked to its population-level stability. Populations whose clonal abundances were more asynchronous were more stable temporally. Variation in asynchrony was related to variability in primary productivity, and experiments using clones from the study populations revealed significant genotype by environment interactions in response to food level.

  • Maternal Lifestyle Study in Four Sites in the United States, 1993-2011
    WSU Dataset

    Alternate Title(s)
    MLS
    Authors
    Seetha Shankaran
    Description

The Maternal Lifestyle Study (MLS) was the largest of the NIH longitudinal studies of children with prenatal cocaine exposure (PCE). MLS was a longitudinal multi-site observational study of the long-term effects of in-utero exposure to cocaine on child development. MLS was conducted at four geographically diverse, collaborating university centers (Wayne State University, University of Tennessee at Memphis, University of Miami, and Brown University). Participants were identified during the newborn period while in the hospital. The MLS began enrollment of a longitudinal birth cohort of 1,388 infant/mother dyads in 1993. Subjects in the follow-up were seen from 1 month of age through 16 years of age. The overall purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of drug use during pregnancy on acute neonatal events and long-term physical health, social, behavioral and neurodevelopmental outcomes.
